Il 5 Marzo 1922 nasceva il Maestro Pier Paolo Pasolini, colui che molti hanno definito, a ragione, l’intellettuale per antonomasia della cultura italiana. Uomo che con la sua spiccata sensibilità ha analizzato la vita sempre in maniera critica e mai retorica lasciandoci, un'immagine vera e completa , con le sue mille sfaccettature, dell'Italia che fu e che, ahimè, per certi versi è ancora oggi.
A 88 anni dalla sua nascita, si avverte il vuoto che ha lasciato, ma anche l’importante eredità che ci ha trasmesso, quel profondo amore per la cultura, che lo ha portato ad essere un innovatore nel teatro, nel cinema o ancora nella pittura; quella sua capacità non comune di sapersi schierare sempre ed apertamente, anche se ciò voleva dire criticare e ricevere le critiche di quel mondo intellettuale, studentesco o politico che maggiormente doveva essere sensibile all’ analisi a cui sottoponeva la società contemporanea; quella sua lungimiranza nel riuscire ad individuare i problemi e le pecche, ancora in fase germinale, in un’Italia che stava vivendo in quegli anni una profonda e radicale trasformazione, che l’avrebbero portata ad essere ciò che oggi, in cui quei problemi su cui spesso P.P.P. puntava il dito (trovandone sempre delle soluzioni) sono ormai radicati e propri della nostra vita quotidiana.
Ricordarlo è un dovere perché ogni qual volta mi trovo a leggere un suo romanzo, una sua poesia, un suo articolo giornalistico o mi trovo a vedere un suo film o una rappresentazione di una sua opera teatrale, rimango sempre sbalordito, ammirandone le capacità non comuni di trasmettere messaggi e insegnamenti, senza scadere mai in facili moralismi ma anzi spaccando gli schemi classici di una cultura italiana che si stava via via imborghesendo.
